January ♥ This month Anthony and I decided to start a new tradition between the two of us. It's nothing special, we just decided that every month we will have at least two date nights a month! By date night, I mean that one night a month we will go out to dinner and then do something simple afterwards. A lot of the time we'll either go to the mall to walk around, sometimes we go to this place called sports time which is a big arcade. Our second date night a month will be dinner and a movie in bed! This might not seem like such a big deal, but to us, a new tradition is always a good thing.
February ♥ This month we celebrated our first Valentine's day together. It was an amazing night, one that I know I won't ever forget. I mean really how does a girl forget her first valentine's day with the love of her life? Anthony and I had a simple date, when I got out of work I went out to Yonkers to see him. He took me to a place called Pizza and Brew, it's an Italian restaurant, it was delicious. After dinner we took a ride to sports time and spent the rest of our night together being a bunch of little kids playing video games! Also this month, I did something for the first time, Anthony and I took a ride to his mother's for a weekend in New Jersey and we went snow tubing! It was so much fun, we already have discussed doing it again in 2013!
March ♥ For the month of March, the most exciting part of the month was hitting a milestone in our relationship. We had been together for six months. They were a rocky few first months, with a lot of ups and downs, but I knew once we hit that point that we'd be okay for the rest of our lives no matter what happens.
April ♥ The weather actually became very nice early on in the season, so one night Anthony and I decided to take our first trip into Manhattan. Now for those of you who know me, this is a big deal because being in Manhattan is one of my least favorite things to do! But Anthony kept my mind off of all my worries and we had a really great time. We didn't do anything special, we simply walked around and took in Manhattan! I loved it!
May ♥ So this month is a special month, it's the month that Anthony was born. I decided that since he works so hard all year round, he deserved a special weekend for his birthday. What did I plan? Not to mention it was the first birthday we spent together. That's simple, on Saturday we drove two and a half hours away to Atlantic City! We had a great time, we walked the boardwalk, we went to the rain forest cafe and gambled a little bit afterwards! Anthony got lucky, he won some money on the slot machines, his face was priceless and I was so happy for him! On Sunday we met up with his sister and some of her friends at Six Flags! We had a really great time, and I know that it's a birthday he will never forget. Speaking of his birthday, I better start trying to figure out what I'm going to do this year to top last year!
June ♥ As part of Anthony's birthday present, I had bought him tickets to go to a WWE Monday night raw event at the Nassau Coliseum. He was so excited to be going because for our first Christmas I bought him tickets to one of their non-aired shows and he loved it! So to be going to an event that was televised he was so excited! Also this month Anthony's uncle Anthony got married. It was a beautiful simple wedding, with some of their closest friends and family members. It really made me realize what I want when Anthony and I say "I do."
July ♥ Anthony is a big lover of the Fourth of July, this happened to be our first one together. We celebrated most of the day with his family to celebrate his cousins birthday. But later on that night, even though the weather wasn't that great, we were able to go somewhere we were able to see a lot of beautiful fireworks.
August ♥ The only exciting thing that happened this month, was I was able to have Anthony place nurse for me. I had a major dental procedure done, my mom had been really worried about me being home alone because of the pain that I should have been in. But lucky for me, I did just fine with the pain and still got to have him take care of me!
September ♥ My favorite month of the year! It's always been because it's the month of my birthday, but now I have a second reason and that's our anniversary. Anthony and I celebrated one amazing year together! We kept my birthday and our anniversary actually pretty low-key and I really enjoyed it. To celebrate my birthday we went into Manhattan to go to the wax museum. (Read all about it here and even see some pictures) For our anniversary dinner we went to the cheese cake factory. Our night got caught short because a really bad rain and wind storm came so we had to head back home before it got too bad.
October ♥ This was a really tragic month in the United States of America! Thousands of people were effected by Hurricane Sandy. This is something that no one will ever be able to forget, I don't think anyone saw the impact of this storm to be as bad as it was. Both my family as well as Anthony's family were lucky enough to make it through the storm unharmed, we lost power for a few days but no serious damage was done. We were very lucky and I was blessed to be with people that truly loved and cared for me at a time of need.
November ♥ Anthony and I celebrated our second Thanksgiving together! Last year because Anthony had lost his grandmother the month before Thanksgiving he decided he wanted to spend it at home with his father, but this year we took the ride to New Jersey and spent it with his mother and her side of the family. Everything was set up so beautifully and the food was amazing. I had a really wonderful time, the worst part of the whole night was the drive home, gosh was I exhausted when I got there!
December ♥ One of my favorite parts of this month was the fact that Anthony, myself, my best friend Christine and the guy she's been seeing for a few months now took a trip into Manhattan to see the tree! Our plans didn't work out as well as we hoped because the tree was actually having some lighting issues and wasn't lit, but we still had an amazing time. Anthony and I also celebrated our second Christmas together and in just two short days we will be on our way to see Jeff Dunham and celebrating our second New Years Eve together!
So that's been my recap, a year that was filled with friends, family, laughs and love, I want to leave off by saying that I am looking forward to 2013. I'm looking forward to the ups, the downs and all the in between because I know that with Anthony, my friends and my family at my side, I can over come anything that comes my way! ♥
