Christmas Eve!

“Christmas is not as much about opening our presents as opening our hearts.”

December 24, 2012. ... . .I can't believe that's already the date, that we are already this far into the year! Where did the year go? I don't think a year has ever flown by so fast in my life before. I guess the saying happiness is the key to everything in life, is truly a real quote in my life. Happiness has been the key to my life for the past year and look how fast the year has already gone. I honestly feel like just the other day Anthony and I were celebrating our first christmas together, but in all reality, tonight is our first Christmas Eve together (we didn't see one another last year on Christmas Eve) with tomorrow being our second Christmas together! Next week will be our second New Years Eve together as well, I'm very much looking forward to it, as well as all the Christmas's and New Year's we still have left to share in our lives!

So with today being Christmas eve, that means the next two days are going to be filled with family, laughter, love and of course presents! Of course Anthony and I waited until the last minute to finish our Christmas shopping, which of course we both regretted because neither of us have the patience to wait in line or to shop in general. But we did it, we finished and we couldn't be happier to be finished! As I mentioned our next two days will be filled with family, tonight after I get out of work (yes, I'm stuck working until about 3pm) we are going to be heading to Anthony's house to drop off some presents for tomorrow, then it's off to Fishkill to spend the evening with his mother's side of the family! They are doing the traditional Italian Christmas, 7 fishes included. Those of you who know me, are saying what does that mean for me? I don't eat fish, so that means for me, I will be eating side dishes and some plain pasta and butter! Tomorrow morning we will be spending our Christmas morning with Anthony's father and that side of the family. I'm not sure what we're going to be doing with them, probably just hang around, we'll be leaving there at about 4ish to go to my grandmother's house to celebrate with my family. I am very much looking forward to this year, I can't wait to see what else is in store for the years to come with him and I!

Has anyone ever seen the reindeer cookies? Well I decided since it’s something so simple, yet so adorable that I’d make some for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day this year! I made 90 reindeer last night; I even gave them colored eyes because I thought it’d be more unique! So I made 30 with brown eyes, 30 with blue eyes and 30 with green eyes! I will be bringing them to Anthony’s aunt’s house tonight, I made a batch for his father and step-mother to bring to his step-aunt’s house and of course a batch for my family tomorrow night! I am so happy with the way they turned out!

So now that I've written a short little entry with just the basic's of what we'll be doing for the holiday and writing about making my cookies, I'm going to get going! I'll be making a much more detailed update later this week, probably with pictures as well from the holidays! But I wanted to wish anyone that stumbles across this blog a very Merry Christmas, a better late than never happy Hanukah and of course a very wonderful new year!
